CCS talents gathered in Copenhagen
Copenhagen, 3 July, 2026 – 49 students from around the world gathered in Copenhagen last week for the IEAGHG International CCS Summer School 2026, a leading international program bringing together the next generation of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) professionals with leading experts from academia and industry.
Throughout the week, participants took part in lectures, group work, discussions and site visits, gaining insights into the full CCS value chain – from capture and transport to storage, policy and commercial development.
TotalEnergies contributed to the program as sponsor and through the participation of David Nevicato, Asset Manager, who joined as a speaker, and Philip Llewellyn, Carbon Management Expert, who served as both speaker and mentor. Together, they shared practical insights and firsthand experience from the development and deployment of carbon management solutions.
Beyond the technical program, the Summer School provided a forum for participants to exchange perspectives, ideas and build connections with peers and experts from across the CCS community, fostering dialogue and collaboration between disciplines, industries and countries to shape the future of CCS.
